Description
Summary:The aim of this study was to evaluate the colour stability of a nanohybrid composite resin after finishing and polishing with three different finishing/polishing systems and a surface sealant. Sixty composite samples (Clearfil Majesty, Kuraray) were prepared using a teflon mold (8mm diameter, 2mm height) and randomly divided into 6 groups (n=10) according to polishing procedures: SL ( Softlex Disc, 3M ESPE), SLB (Softlex Disc+Biscover LV,Bisco), SR (Super-Snap-Rainbow-Kit, Shofu), SSB (Super-Snap-Rainbow-Kit+BisCover LV), TD (Clearfil Twist DIA, Kuraray Medical Inc.) TDB( Twist Dia+Biscover LV). These samples were then incubated for 14 days in the red wine solution, mimicking conditions relevant to dental applications. Before and after incubation, colour changes (ΔE) were measured using a VITA Easyshade® V spectrophotometer (VITA Easyshade® Advance V, Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Germany). The CIE (L*a*b*) colour system was used to determine the colour difference. Data was assessed with Kruskal-Wallis statistical analysis. Mann-Whitney-U tests were used to perform multiple comparisons. A p-value 3.3). The surface sealant application after polishing with Sof-Lex Disc may reduce colour change.
