Summary: | This study discusses an education method aimed at increasing student depth of understanding of control theory via an education system based on the flight control system of a model helicopter. Using this system, undergraduate students use different methods to vary the altitude of the helicopter, and, in the process, directly experience dynamics, linearity, and nonlinearity, as well as the control requirements and differences between manual and automatic control. The results of this study show that student understanding of control theory can be effectively increased using our education system. |
