Summary:We have scrutinized the problem of optimal placement of monitoring points over the state of the controlled process, described by the differential equation with partial derivatives. For definiteness it was considered the heating process of a rod in an oven whose temperature is controlled depending on the temperature measured in the points of the rod. The task is reduced to a parametric optimal control by the loaded system. There were derived the formulas for components of the functional gradient with respect to the placement coordinates of monitoring points and the parameters of synthesized control, depending on the current measurements.
