Description
Summary:The purpose of this paper is to apply a systemic application of Lean Healthcare in the activity of accommodation in beds in the medical clinic entry process. The methodology proposed is based into two steps: the first, named survey, aims to map the process in which the focus activity in inserted and them obtain the waste associated, identifying the root cause of it. Then, in the second step is called Lean proposal, because it uses a tool to remedy the identified waste, applying the necessary actions within a schedule and, finally, collecting the results and comparing with the initial measurement. As results, improvements are identified, from the point of view of Lean Healthcare, especially in the bed accommodation activity, reducing non added value and, thus, patient waiting time. As conclusions, it was possible to obtain concrete information about the implementation of this proposed systematic application, so that it can be replicated in other wastes, generating a systematic proposal, filling a gap in the literature, which covers the lack of proposal. fully structured studies with practical results of Lean Healthcare systematics in the medical clinic wing of hospitals.
