Summary: | When developing biomedical technical solutions, ethical aspects must always be considered. Many innovations therefore implement the 3R strategy (Refinement, Reduction, Replacement) by Russel & Burch so that animal suffering can be minimized and in the best case, the number of animal experiments can be reduced. One strategy to replace animal testing is the development of electro-mechanical models. In the present work, adaptations of the electro-mechanical lung simulator xPULM™ to implement the 3R strategy are presented. |
