Description
Summary:The COVID-19 pandemic was particularly impactful on sojourners, absent from their families and unable to return home. This study explores how spirituality may impact self-esteem and how this may affect thriving during such a challenging time. Specifically, adopting a positive psychology framework, we expected higher/lower levels of spirituality would result in higher/lower levels of daily self-esteem, which in turn would result in higher/lower levels of daily thriving. We measured these daily fluctuations over a 9-day period by using a diary study. Results supported our hypothesized model. These findings extend our understanding of the role of spirituality during COVID-19 pandemic.
