Description
Summary:A mycotic aneurysm is an infection of the vessel wall which can be bacterial, fungal, or viral in origin. It is invariably a fatal infectious disease if appropriate treatment is not done. We describe the case of a forty-six years male who presented with complaints of high-grade fever and lower back pain with worsening symptoms with the passage of the illness. An infrarenal lobulated abdominal aortic aneurysm was confirmed by CT angiography. He underwent aneurysmorrhaphy and metronidazole was started following the culture report (Bacteroides fragilis). He was discharged successfully from the hospital.
