Summary:Ho3−x−yYbyBixFe5O12 (HoYbBIG) garnet thick films with Bi content of x=0.9–1.5 were prepared by the liquid phase epitaxy (LPE) method. Optical properties and magneto-optical properties were characterized. The LPE-grown HoYbBIG thick films exhibited large Faraday rotation coefficients up to 1540°/cm at 1.55μm, and good wavelength and temperature stability.
