Effect of cooling rate and concentration of Ga on the microstructure and magnetic property of NdFeCoGaB ribbons

The effects of the cooling rate (speeds of wheel surface v = 15 – 30 m / s in steps of 5 m/s) and composition 0 ⩽ x ⩽ 1 on the magnetic properties and microstructure of Nd 12Fe 71.4− x Co 10B 6.6Ga x ribbons were studied. The coercivity H c increases from 12 to 17 kOe when x increases from 0 to 1. T...

Description
Summary:The effects of the cooling rate (speeds of wheel surface v = 15 – 30 m / s in steps of 5 m/s) and composition 0 ⩽ x ⩽ 1 on the magnetic properties and microstructure of Nd 12Fe 71.4− x Co 10B 6.6Ga x ribbons were studied. The coercivity H c increases from 12 to 17 kOe when x increases from 0 to 1. The best magnetic properties of the ribbon after annealing were H c = 17 kOe , M r / M s = 0.8 , (BH) max=18 MGOe with optimum cooper wheel speed of 25 m/s and x = 0.6 .
