Summary: | A novel process is employed in the fabrication of porous anodic aluminum oxide film in neutral electrolyte. A titration technique which involves titration of acid–base neutralization process is used as the electrolyte source in the anodization of the aluminum substrate. Freshly prepared 10% phosphoric acid at pH1 is titrated with 1
M of sodium hydroxide until it reaches pH7 in a neutral environment. The growth of the porous anodic film was made possible by 60
V dc applied potential from an in-house electrochemical cell to the aluminum substrate in the neutral electrolyte. The diameter of the pores produced is in the range of 40–200
nm. |
