Description
Summary:Nanoparticles of Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 with average diameter less than 100 nm are synthesized in the ethanol by a coprecipitation method. The sample is characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and charge–discharge test. The results show that the material has initial discharge capacity of 165.7 mAh g−1 in the voltage range of 3.0–4.3 V under a current density 0.2 C and excellent cyclability. ► Nanoparticles were synthesized in the ethanol by a coprecipitation method. ► The nanosized Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 has the α-NaFeO2 structure. ► The nanosized Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 holds better electrochemical performance.
