Summary: | •Solution combustion synthesis is a novel method for the preparation of Nano-LiFePO4.•Impurities from fuels could prevent the formation of continuous carbon layers.•Impurities from fuels could cause deterioration of electrochemical performance.•Heat treatment after SCS is useful to remove impurities from fuels.
As an effective and energy-saving method, solution combustion synthesis (SCS) has been introduced to the preparation of Nano-LiFePO4. However, Nano-LiFePO4 by SCS suffers from impurities from excess fuels which was rarely investigated. In this work, simple heat treatment after combustion reaction was applied to remove the impurities from excess fuels. After the treatment, Nano-LiFePO4 with Tm of 500℃ exhibits more continuous carbon layers and better electrochemical performance. Specific capacity of 152.8 mAh/g at 0.1C and coulombic efficiency of 92.86% at the 1st cycle were obtained. |
