Summary:This study finds the comparison of AA 5083-T4 properties on Tungsten Inert Gas welding (TIGW) and Friction Stir Welding (FSW) processes. Generally all welding processes are aimed at obtaining welded joint with the desired weld-bead parameters, superior mechanical properties with minimum distortion. Welding input parameters play a very significant role in determining quality of weld. The weld quality can be determined in the terms of properties such as weld bead geometry, mechanical properties and distortion. The potential of FSW and TIGW for joining similar metal has been evaluated and compared. Different joint configurations from TIGW and welding speeds/feeds of FSW were used to study the effect of welding parameters on weld quality and properties
