Description
Summary:Potable water is a precious and scarce commodity in developing and developed countries. Due to increase in population and rapid industrialization, huge volume of limited potable water is being consumed at a faster rate as a result huge volume of wastewater is being generated. Partially treated and treated wastewater is to be reused where ever it is possible for sustainable development. Construction industry is the one in which the rate of consumption of concrete is almost as same as that of consumption of water. Hence, this paper emphasizes a detailed study to use non-potable water in concrete referring to the existing broad standards available in various codes of mixing water for concrete.
