Summary: | In this paper, the effect of heat treatment and warmuni-axially compression of AA 2014 alloy were studied at different amount of deformations. Microstructural characterization and mechanical properties were studied for deformed and precipitation hardened specimens. Differential scanning calorimetry test was performed to check thermal stability of specimen, and observed that thermal stability of precipitation hardened specimen is highest. Wear test was conducted with the help of pin on disc wear testing machine, and observed that wear rate was increased with increasing load, and also precipitation hardened and deformed specimens were more wear resistant as compared to as-received material. |
