Summary: | A single cavity graded index optical filter is designed by super-imposing of two sine wave refractive index profiles for a design wavelength of 0.55 µm. A suitable number of matching layers, generated using quintic function, were added to the super-imposed sinusoidal refractive index profile to achieve ∼96% transmittance cavity filter at normal incidence. The design was simulated for two different substrates with refractive indices of 1.52 and 2 respectively and simulated transmittance spectra for both the designs were compared. Simulated results show that the design with substrate refractive index 1.52 shows better transmittance performance. |
