Summary: | The present work reports the synthesis of polyaniline-grafted-chitosan (PANI- g-CHIT) hybrid matrix by in-situ chemical polymerization technique at ambient conditions. The representative prepared samples were characterized by Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning electron microscope (SEM). The result suggests the formation of grafted copolymer with homogeneous morphology and improved stability. Further a film of copolymer was casted to ITO coated glass electrode and immobilized by Urease enzyme to explore for Urea sensing in the range 20 ppm to 500 ppm. The electrode was found stable for twenty one days and shows improved sensing properties to several reported sensors. |
