Summary: | L alanine added nickel sulphate hexahydrate (LANSH)crystals were grown by slow evaporation method in aqueous solution at room temperature. The grown crystals were characterized structurally, optically and thermally. X-ray diffraction studies proved the crystalline nature of the grown compound and it belongs to monoclinic structure. The presence of various functional groups was identified through FTIR analysis. The LANSH crystals are highly transparent in the mid UV wavelength range and hence these may be used in UV filters. In addition, thermo gravimetric analysis shows that the crystal is stable up to 110 °C. Therefore, LANSH can be employed in UV filters with higher ambient temperature too. |
