Summary:Lean Manufacturing techniques are being implemented in Indian SMEs widely. The government of India is also helping these SMEs in their Lean journey by providing various incentives. Other institutes like ILO, NPC and QCI also help in implementing Lean tools in order to make them more competitive in the global market. In recent times many consultants have been trained in Lean tools and are being hired by the SMEs. Under this background, this paper attempts to capture the benefits accrued by a group of SMEs who have attempted to implement Lean. The methodology adopted in implementation and the improvements achieved by these SMEs are analyzed in this study and explained in this paper.
