Summary: | This paper presents that the efficiency of thermal energy storage system is increased by reducing the charging time of Phase Change Material (PCM) by using the mixture of hybrid nanofluid (Zinc Cobalt Iron Oxide) and water as Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF). By using nanofluids it is found that the charging time for paraffin wax is reduced to about 25% and discharging time is also reduced to about 20%. Discharge using nanofluid is not so beneficiary because it reduces the time of discharging which is generally not required therefore it is advised to use nanofluid for charging purpose and simple water for discharging purpose to obtain maximum efficiency of the system. |
