Summary: | Among all chronic diseases, cancer is one of the major concerns today due to the constant rise in cancer cases. Cancer research is important in understanding the biological mechanism of cancer which can help in the detection of cancer at an early stage and reduce the mortality rate. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) provides a huge amount of material for cancer research, but it is very difficult for beginners to access and download this material. In this paper, we discussed different repositories that provide multi-genomics materials of different cancer types. A summary of all these repositories along with their links is also provided. In addition to this, the procedure used to access TCGA material using the TCGA Assembler2 tool is described in this paper. This paper will help the researchers working in this field in accessing and downloading cancer material in the desired format. |
