Summary: | In the present scenario additive manufacturing (AM) has evolved over the last few years. There are several methods of AM and we use these methods for producing our desired products. The mechanical properties of manufactured products depend upon the material property and the method by which it is prepared. AM has vast application which includes sectors like aerospace, automotive, medical and various commercial fields. For producing high quality products using AM technology, an appropriate material is required since AM has the limited scope with the some materials. AM with every materials is not possible. This review paper covers and discusses the materials developed till date that can be used in AM. Materials which were used earlier and are being used today along with the characteristics to be possessed by smart future materials in accordance to AM has been discussed. |
