Summary: | Honeycomb sandwich panels are common or engineered structures with a honeycomb's geometry to reduce mass of material and achieve minimum weight, least price of material and high stiffness. The unique characteristics of honey comb panel compare to other panels are excessive strength- to-weight ratio and design versatility. The principle behind panel is core member takes shear stresses, plates (top, bottom) take bending stresses. Several varieties of sandwich geometry are extensively utilizing in automobile, aerospace, transportation industries etc. In present paper FEA analysis on these honeycomb structures is done by considering Aluminium, Titanium, as top, bottom plates and Glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) as core using ANSYS workbench software. The test is done in six cases in first two cases titanium and aluminium is taken as complete material and after that same process is done by varying face plates materials as Titanium, or Aluminium material. The FEA results (Deformation, Stresses) are discussed. |
