Description
Summary:In the aim of the present investigation is to fabricate pineapple leaf and areca fiber and egg shell powder reinforced phenolic resin composites through hand layup technique and study their mechanical properties such as tensile, compression, flexural, impact and hardness properties. The mechanical properties finding revealed that 70:30 ratio reinforced composite showed efficient properties among all the combinations of fibers. So machining study has been carried out on this composite with three process variables such as spindle speed, feed rate and pecking and analyzed the effect of drilling duration through Taguchi’s technique. The finding revealed that a spindle speed of 1000 rpm, feed rate of 0.15 mm/min and pecking of 4.5 mm is the optimal machining process parameter for getting minimum drilling duration. Moreover, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) confirmed that, spindle speed is the process parameter having a significant effect on the drilling duration.
