Description
Summary:Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles are being used in number of industrial products such as cosmetics, coatings, rubber and paints,. Here we report the green synthesis method for the synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles from Terminalia mantaly leaf extract. The morphology and size of the particles of the synthesized ZnO nanoparticles are characterized by using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), X-ray Diffraction, and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that the size of the nanoparticles ranged from 23 to 216 nm. The anti-bacterial activities were carried out for the synthesised Zinc oxide nanoparticles against gram negative Escherichia coli and gram positive Balantidium by using well diffusion method. The synthesised ZnO nanoparticle exhibits antibacterial activity against the Balantidium coli and Escherichia coli. For the ZnO nanoparticles it was observed that the zone if inhibition increases against E-coil gram negative. The present study confirms the eco-friendly green synthesis of the ZnO nanoparticles using Terminalia Mantaly Leaf extract.
