Summary: | Toll road infrastructure needs to be developed, related to the facilities for motorists who pass through the road. One of the facilities for toll road infrastructure is the existence of a rest area. A rest area is a temporary resting place used by motorists to rest. It is necessary to maximize land productivity for the rest area to improve the quality for visitors and construct a good impact on the economic factors of the rest area. One method that can bring in determine land use is Highest and Best Use (HBU). The study aims to determine the use of research methods related to rest areas and the highest and best use by analyzing 23 relevant papers. In research data collection, there are quantitative and qualitative approaches. Each study used different methods based on the analysis of research methods from 23 indexed papers. In the discussion topic of rest areas, generally, the paper discusses facilities, functions, optimization of parking areas, the distance between rest areas, and the positive impact of rest areas on traffic accidents. Research methods on paper rest areas vary and use several approaches. HBU-related papers generally discuss land valuation and decision-making. Previous studies have also used several different data collection techniques. However, quadrant mapping introduced that the use of quantitative methods with secondary data was the most dominant. Therefore, the results of this analysis will assist further research methods regarding the topic of the rest area and highest and best use. |
