Influence of the TAABr salts on the crystallization of ETS-10

ETS-10 zeolite was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions from gels containing TiCl 4 and sodium silicate as titanium and silica source in the presence of tetraalkylammonium bromides, TAABr (TAA +: TMA +, TEA +, TPA + and TBA +). The samples were characterized by XRD, thermal analysis (TG, DSC),...

Description
Summary:ETS-10 zeolite was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions from gels containing TiCl 4 and sodium silicate as titanium and silica source in the presence of tetraalkylammonium bromides, TAABr (TAA +: TMA +, TEA +, TPA + and TBA +). The samples were characterized by XRD, thermal analysis (TG, DSC), SEM and multinuclear 13C- and 29Si-NMR. The reaction kinetics was determined at 170, 190 and 210 °C. The following sequence was found for the activation energy: ETS-10 > TMA-ETS-10 ∼ TEA-ETS-10 > TPA-ETS-10 > TBA-ETS-10. The chemical shifts of the organic cations based on 13C-NMR spectra showed clearly that the TAA + ions are incorporated in the ETS-10 channels.
