Summary: | In the past 20 years, professional identity in nursing and scales associated with the term have been difficult and confusing to define. In 2018, a group of nurse leaders sought to define professional identity in nursing and subsequently created a new scale based on that definition. This new Professional Identity in Nursing Scale is currently being psychometrically tested with practicing nurses. Nurse leaders can start to think innovatively about how to use the scale with individual nurses as well as with a group in the work environment. |
