Description
Summary:The identification of microorganisms in low amounts (monolayers, single cells) has been achieved by means of Raman spectroscopy. In a first example, we investigate single bacteria colonies on Agar plates by means of micro-Raman spectroscopy. Secondly, we demonstrate the spatially resolved distinction between a smear of two colored microorganism on a glass plate. Finally, we show the possibility to detect extremely small amounts of colorless bacteria with the confocal micro Raman technique.
