Description
Summary:Mycetomas are chronic, subcutaneous infections characterized by a clinical triad of chronic induration, draining sinuses, and discharge of granules. It can be caused either by aerobic, branched actinomycetes or by eumycetes. This pathology is quite rare in Morocco. Two Moroccan cases of mycetoma of the foot caused by Madurella mycetomatis are reported in which identification of the etiologic agents was confirmed by mycologic analysis of the grains and culture isolation of the etiologic agent.
