Reconstruction of X-ray spectra with the energy sensitive photon counting detector Medipix2
A hybrid photon counting detector like the Medipix can be used to measure the energy deposited by X-ray photons in a sensor pixel. We calculate the expected energy deposition distribution with the help of the Monte-Carlo simulation tool ROSI and thus determine the energy response function. These res...

Summary: | A hybrid photon counting detector like the Medipix can be used to measure the energy deposited by X-ray photons in a sensor pixel. We calculate the expected energy deposition distribution with the help of the Monte-Carlo simulation tool ROSI and thus determine the energy response function. These response functions are used in two deconvolution methods to determine X-ray spectra from measured energy deposition spectra. We present reconstruction results for monoenergetic and polychromatic X-ray spectra. |
