Summary: | This work is the third paper presented under the same title by the author. The subject dealt with in these works is a rather classical problem which already has been investigated by several researchers, but we revisit the same subject from the viewpoint of the hydrodynamic interaction between two plates induced by the waves transmitted and reflected due to the plates, while decomposing the wave field into component waves and accounting for the hydrodynamic interactions among those component waves. As the third paper, the effects of waves of evanescent modes (exponentially decaying waves) on the transmission and the reflection of waves, especially their complete transmissions and complete reflections, are further investigated.
•Complete reflection and complete transmission of water waves by an array of 2-D bodies is revisited.•The revisiting is carried out from the viewpoint of hydrodynamic interactions among waves.•The role of waves of evanescent modes is focused. |
