Description
Summary:Abstract Malignant disease within pregnancy is a rare event with an incidence of 1 in 1000 pregnancies. The occurrence presents significant challenges both ethically and medically to clinicians due to conflicts arising in providing optimal maternal therapy whilst ensuring fetal well-being. Involvement of the multidisciplinary team is therefore of paramount importance in managing this complex situation. In line with increasing maternal age there is expected to be an increase in prevalence of cancer complicating pregnancy in the years to come.
