Description
Summary:To present a series of clinical cases of dentigerous cysts treated by means of marsupialization using the retained teeth associated with the lesion. This is an epidemiologic study based on the retrospective and descriptive analysis from November 2005 to November 2015. Twelve patients were included in the study, with mean age of 9 years. Eight patients were men and 4 were women. The most involved teeth were premolars and maxillary central incisors and the mean eruption time was 13 months. In all cases there was eruption of the associated tooth and new bone formation in the area where the cyst was present. No recurrences were observed. In the cases treated in the evaluated period, marsupialization was shown as an effective therapeutic option in the approach of young patients.
