Summary: | We present a case involving a 29-year-old male patient who presented with an extensive plexiform ameloblastoma in the mandible. The patient had complaints of swelling, paresthesia, and limited mouth opening that had been ongoing for 4 months. Upon extraoral examination, swelling was observed in the right side of the mandibular ramus and body. Intraorally, the lesion appeared as a painless, indurated area with a red-whitish color and a pseudomembrane. The lesion measured approximately 6 centimeters in its largest diameter. A computed tomography scan was performed, and an incisional biopsy was conducted for histopathological evaluation, leading to the diagnosis of plexiform ameloblastoma. To optimize the surgical procedure and enhance predictability, virtual surgical planning was carried out. The patient then underwent segmented resection of the affected mandibular segment, followed by primary mandibular reconstruction using an autologous graft from a microvascularized fibula. Currently, the patient has been under follow-up for 8 months, and there have been no signs of recurrence, either clinically or on imaging studies. The patient has maintained functional and aesthetic outcomes. |
