Summary: | To evaluate the degree of oral mucositis in children and adolescents undergoing chemotherapy and determine its relationship with associated factors.
This cross-sectional study included 30 patients aged 0-18 years who were admitted to the oncopediatrics department. Data were collected through clinical examinations and from charts. The grade of oral mucositis was analyzed based on the World Health Organization (WHO) scale.
Severe mucositis (grades 3-4) was found in 4 patients. A total of 12 and 10 patients had grades 1 and 2, respectively. The absence of mucositis was observed in 4 patients. Kendall's bivariate correlation analysis revealed weak negative correlations (p |
