Design of photonic crystal fibers with ultra-low, ultra-flattened chromatic dispersion
We report the control of chromatic dispersion in index-guided photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) by GeO2-doping the central part of the silica core. Dispersion properties can be achieved by controlling the size and the GeO2-concentration of the doped region. PCFs with chromatic dispersion of about 6×10−...

Summary: | We report the control of chromatic dispersion in index-guided photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) by GeO2-doping the central part of the silica core. Dispersion properties can be achieved by controlling the size and the GeO2-concentration of the doped region. PCFs with chromatic dispersion of about 6×10−2 ps/km/nm and dispersion slope of 0.003 to −0.0015 ps/km/nm2 in the C-band (1500–1600 nm) have been theoretically designed. |
