Summary: | In this work, the diffraction efficiency of a volume phase grating incoherently stored in a photorefractive BSO crystal is theoretically and experimentally analyzed. The results confirm the theoretical proposal based on the coupled wave theory adopting a new grating depth parameter associated to the write-in incoherent optical system. The selectivity behavior is governed by the exit pupil diameter of the imaging recording system that controls the depth of the tridimensional image distribution along the propagation direction. Two incoherent gratings are multiplexed in a single crystal and reconstructed without cross-talk.
