Summary: | A homeotropically oriented polymer network stabilized liquid crystal film with a smectic A (SmA)–chiral nematic (N∗) phase transition was prepared. Thermal switching between light transmission from homeotropically oriented SmA phase and adjustable light scattering from N∗ phase with a focal conic texture can be achieved by adjusting the ratio of two chiral dopants which demonstrate different variation tendency of helical twisting power with increasing temperature. |
