Molecule dependent turbulent memory
The transition from turbulent to laminar regime in a pipe flow of He, N 2, CO 2 and SF 6 have been studied experimentally. Dependence of the flow on molecular specie and initial conditions has been observed. The role of initial conditions is discussed with respect to the theory of turbulent flows.
