Summary: | The first near-complete genome of large cardamom chirke virus (LCCV) isolate Gangtok (BK013139) was obtained from the publicly available large cardamom transcriptome dataset derived from LCCV infected plants. The LCCV genome contained a large polyprotein open reading frame (ORF) (7,899 nt) and a small PIPO ORF (189 nt) starting with T(A)6. The 2,632 aa long polyprotein of LCCV with all the potyvirus- and maculavirus-specific motifs possessed eight cleavage sites to yield nine products in the following order- HC-Pro, P3, 7K, CI, 9K, VPg, NIa, NIb and CP. Phylogeny based on the amino acid sequences of polyprotein revealed the relatedness of LCCV with other macluraviruses. |
