Description
Summary:New five cationic and neutral discrete copper(II) α-hydroxycarboxylate complexes with 2,2′-dipyridylamine were isolated. Four of these compounds have been studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and also we analyzed their intermolecular interactions by Hirshfeld surfaces. [Display omitted] The reaction of CuCO3·Cu(OH)₂ with three different α-hydroxyacids (H2L′) and the nitrogen donor coligand 2,2′-dipyridylamine (dipyam) has produced five new discrete copper(II) complexes. Two kind of compounds have been isolated: neutral complexes of formula [Cu(H2L′)2(dipyam)] and cationic [Cu(H2L′)(dipyam)2](H2L′) complexes. Four of these compounds have been studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and the analysis of their molecular crystal structures were also performed by the analysis of their Hirshfeld surfaces. The thermal behaviour has also been investigated.
