Three molecular engineered [Ir(N^C)2(CF3pic)] complexes, where N^C are Fppy = 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine, ppy = 2-phenylpyridine or Meppy = 2-(p-tolyl)pyridine, and CF3pic = 3-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine-2-carboxylate, are reported to elucidate their photophysical characteristics and emission profiles to emphasize rigidochromism.
