Summary: | The thermal oxidation of low-density polyethylene in the presence of some chalcone derivatives was studied by chemiluminescence. Several kinetic parameters were calculated to characterize the protection activity of the additives. Activation energies of thermal degradation were evaluated from oxidation induction time and maximum oxidation time in order to differentiate the effects of stabilizers on the early stage of degradation and the low activity of additives at the end of ageing. |
