Description
Summary:The tool deflection is one of the biggest problems in micro milling operations. For the production of complex 3D moulded surfaces are mainly used micro ball end mills. The paper describes the methodological development of a micro reference part which will allow a standardized evaluation of the tool deflection and the technical capability of this tools. Therefore representative parts were selected of different branches and companies. These parts were analytically examined regarding their geometric elements and applied machining modes for a subsequent split up into different single features. Based on a scientific recomposition of these single features the micro reference part was developed.
