Summary: | With respect to the digitization of production processes, there is an increased demand for automated machining processes. The shape of the workpieces can be complex, e. g., when designing milling processes for functional surfaces of additively manufactured parts. The determination of the workpiece coordinate system can be challenging, especially for freeform surfaces and a high initial surface roughness. In this paper, a methodology for the automated digitization of workpieces in a machining center is presented. An integrated camera system is combined with tactile measurements in order to determine the workpiece shape and the clamping situation. |
