Summary: | Determination of hardness and stiffness for materials is extremely important because of its rule in the design of engineering applications. This work investigated the possibility of increasing A308 steel hardness through the burning of olive Pomace. Carbonizing, nitrating and cyaniding methods were employed. Results have shown that hardness of stainless steel samples is directly proportional with the temperature and the amount of carbon in the test specimen. |
