Description
Summary:The aim of the present paper is to show the effect of hydrophobic redispersibele powder (ORP) added in plaster mortars made with Portland cement. Due to its particular chemical and physical composition this polymer improves adhesion, abrasion resistance, flexibility and water resistance of mortars containing hydraulic binders. The paper brings arguments concerning the evolution in time of the physical and mechanical properties of the mortars, based on complex methods typical of civil engineering and physics such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), in particular the 1H NMR relaxometry combined with inverse Laplace analysis and distribution of pore sized. The research presented in this paper ends with proposing of innovative mortar made with cement and hydrophobic redispersibele powder to better correspond to multiple demands that manifests on these materials.
