Description
Summary:In many states of the former Soviet Union, Georgia in particular, there are many waste dumps at military bases where the ammunition is past its expiry date. Disposal in landfill, by incineration or explosion leads to environmental problems and requires considerable expenditure. The following report describes a research project where the goal is to recover explosives from military refuse dumps, which can further be processed into industrial explosives suitable for extraction of raw materials in open-cast mining.
