Description
Summary:In this case study, the Finnish case company’s multi-component product, which contains sheet metal, electronic and other components, was analyzed and re-designed through its assembly. The ventilation unit’s sheet metal components and their manufacturing were changed with design of manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) and re-designing methods. The estimated improvement of the re-designing to the products lead-time was 30 procent. Sheet metal components were simplified or eliminated and the manufacturing and assembly methods were refined.
